The Professor-Practitioners at Colorado Chinese Medicine University (CCMU) are licensed acupuncturists and Chinese medicine clinicians actively engaged in both patient care and academic instruction.
By integrating real-world clinical experience with classical Chinese medicine theory and modern educational standards, CCMU faculty ensure that students receive rigorous, practice-based training aligned with contemporary healthcare needs.

Rui Nan is a third-generation Chinese medicine practitioner, a state-licensed acupuncturist in Colorado.
Upon completing an eight-year program, Rui Nan obtained a master’s of Chinese medicine degree from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the top Chinese medicine university in China. She also inherits many years of clinical experience from her parents, who have more than 40 years of Chinese medicine experience as renowned practitioners and teachers at the Heilongjiang University of TCM. Â
Rui Nan regularly attends advanced programs of study in China and the United States to keep abreast of the latest and most innovative methods to help her patients. She dedicates herself to the in-depth research, and advanced practice of Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM)Â founded upon such classic texts as:
- The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine (Huang Di Nei Jing)
- The Eighty-one Difficult (Nan Jing)
- The Book of Changes (I Ching/YiJing)
- ShangHan Lun
- Shennong’s Materia Medica
These classic texts are the foundation of Chinese Medicine. They have inspired over 80 generations of renowned Chinese Medicine practitioners, including Rui Nan. From this study, she advances her knowledge and experience as she strives to attain perfect results in treating all kinds of diseases using Classic Chinese Medicine.
As a practitioner with 20 years of professional practice, she has rich experience treating various pain disorders, chronic diseases, gynecological disorders, and stress-related health problems.Â
Rui Nan plays a central role in CCMU’s clinical training and doctoral-level education.
