We are committed to improving healthcare by developing and fostering high quality evidence for traditional medicine and its application in the modern world. The Research Department at CCMU is committed to bringing world-class research methodology to the study of Chinese medicine by promoting the principles of evidence-based medicine through engagement, knowledge sharing, research and education.
PurposeÂ
The CCMU Research Department advances the scientific study of Chinese Medicine by conducting and disseminating high-quality evidence-based research. We focus on all facets of patients’ health and wellness, biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. We seek to improve our understanding of how TCM treatments work, and how well they work. Our goals are to strengthen the base of scientific evidence for Chinese medicine and support the inclusion of effective approaches in medical care.Â

Test the effectiveness and safety of Chinese Medicine approaches.
Determine how Chinese Medicine treatments work, and how treatment effectiveness can be optimized.
Assess how to best use technological, behavioral, and Chinese medicine tools to achieve healthy lifestyles.
The research department at CCMU is dedicated to developing the next generation of researchers. Our Doctoral program prepares clinicians and graduate students for a future of evidence-based Chinese medicine.Â
The research department at CCMU will focus on issues for which conventional pharmacological or surgical treatments have significant limitations, such as pain, anxiety, depression, stress management, and other non-pharmacologic approaches for pain and symptom management.
