Graduate Programs
CCMU offers five graduate-level programs that integrate Chinese Medicine with Western biomedicine. The university provides three pathways, enabling students to progress from a Master’s program to an Advanced Doctorate program.


Path 1 (require minimum 60 college credits):
- Master of Acupuncture (MAc)
- Focus: Acupuncture, Acumoxa modalities, Tui-na, Chinese nutrition, and energetic exercise/meditation.
- Master of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine specialization (MAcCHM)
- Includes MAc contents
- Plus comprehensive Chinese Herbal Medicine and TCM Internal Medicine
Path 2 (require minimum 90 college credits):
- Doctor of Acupuncture (DAc)
- Includes MAc contents
- Additional focus on integrative medicine, with Women Health and Oncology specialty
- A MAc can pursue DAc with the PD completer track (8 month, 330 hours)
- Doctor of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine specialization (DAcCHM)
- Includes MAcCHM contents
- Additional focus on integrative medicine, with Women Health and Oncology specialty
- A MAcCHM can pursue DAcCHM with the PD completer track (8 month, 330 hours)
Path 3 (require acupuncture license)
- Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)
- Learn a new and highly effective system to treat your patients based on the classics.
- Learn advanced pulse assessment, using only 6 pulses.
- Learn advanced treatments modalities in addition to innovative acupuncture & herbal medicine to diagnose and treat Qi concerns.

Program Structure
- Trimester System:
- Each year consists of three 15-week trimesters.
- Trimesters begin in January, May, and late August/early September.
- Students have a total of 7 weeks off annually.
- Flexible Study Options:
- Accelerated Tracks:
- MAc (2,400 hours, 128.5 credits): 28 months
- MAcCHM (3,075 hours, 165 credits): 36 months
- DAc (2,730 hours, 145.5 credits): 36 months
- DAcCHM (3,405 hours, 182 credits): 44 months
- DAOM (1,215 hours, 55.5 credits): 24 months
- Requires ~21 classroom hours per week.
- Full-Time, Half-Time, and Part-Time:
- Full-time: 12-15 credits per trimester.
- Half-time: 6-11 credits.
- Part-time: Available under specific circumstances (e.g., life events).
- Maximum Completion Times:
- MAc: 6.66 years (80 months)
- MAcCHM: 8.33 years (100 months)
- DAc: 7.33 years (88 months)
- DAcCHM: 9.33 years (112 months)
- DAOM: 4 years (48 months)
- Accelerated Tracks:
- Credit Calculation:
- Didactic courses: 1 credit = 15 hours.
- Clinical courses: 1 credit = 30 hours.

Continuing Education & Public Programs
- Continuing Education Units (CEU):
- Seminars/workshops for skill enhancement.
- Qualify for NCCAOM CEU credits for licensed acupuncturists.
- Public Classes:
- General workshops are available to the public.

- Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM), recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
